Basic Excel Training Course

Our Basic Excel training course can be carried out in the following versions: 2010, 2013, 2016 and 365.

All of our courses are full day courses, typically running from 9:30am to 4pm with two coffee breaks and a lunch break throughout to break up the course. Timings can be slightly flexible though to fit in with your needs. We can also create a bespoke course to tailor the contents of the course to your needs. Just ask, we’d be happy to help.

  • Selecting Cells
  • Entering Text and Numbers. Cell formatting
  • Editing, Cut, Copy, Paste
  • Formatting Text. Cell styles
  • Shading and borders
  • Inserting rows and columns
  • Simple Formulae. Autosum, Percentages
  • Headers & Footers
  • Common Functions
  • Differences between Relative & Absolute References
  • Page setup, Printing & Zoom
  • Other Simple Functions for example hiding, freezing, conditional formatting
  • Exercises throughout

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to enable the trainee to create and format individual worksheets learning how to use simple cell and column formatting skills. In addition there will be considerable emphasis placed upon the simple mathematical symbols  and simple functions used in Excel. Navigational procedures like hiding and freezing will be covered along with conditional formatting.
