In October last year we were amazed to have hit a views milestone on our YouTube channel! As a small family run business we really appreciate every view. So to have now hit this next milestone so soon, we’re blown away!

Last month, we had an email through saying we’d hit a 175,000 views milestone on our YouTube channel!

To all who have viewed our videos on our channel, thank you so much we really do appreciate it. We’re always so pleased to see that our videos are enjoyed by and helping others.

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating an incredible milestone – 30 years in business for our long-standing Chamber trainer, John Legge.

I was delighted to attend the anniversary buffet lunch at The Kings Court Hotel; a wonderful event filled with colleagues and friends who have been part of John’s journey over the years. It was a fantastic afternoon of stories, laughter and well-deserved recognition.

I was especially honoured to receive a signed copy of his very first book, “My Journey in Computing and Business” – an autobiographical reflection on his life in computing and the remarkable evolution of technology over the decades. It’s an inspiring account of adaptability, curiosity and continuous learning.

For us at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, John is far more than a trusted trainer delivering exceptional courses on our behalf. He’s a valued colleague and a friend who inspires me daily, whether we’re collaborating on bespoke training solutions for our members or he’s quite literally pushing me to the finish line at parkrun!

His energy, expertise and passion when delivering training are exemplary. He doesn’t just teach, he engages, challenges and empowers. Over the years, countless businesses and professionals have benefited from his knowledge and dedication.

John, congratulations on an outstanding 30 years. Long may your success continue. Here’s to you and to everyone at JPL IT Training Limited on this remarkable achievement!

This year JPL hits the big 30! 2026 marks our 30th year in business and things have definitely changed a bit over that time. We’ve had a name change, new website, gone through a pandemic just to name a few.

As with everything we are always so grateful to our customers who have been with us throughout all this time. Some have even been with us from the very beginning and still with us now!

John started off the business as a dream of his and it changed as the need for his expertise also changed over the years. This year John has released a book going through some of those changes and includes a good handful of funny stories he’s collected over the years. You can read more about this in a previous news post here.

Another birthday too, but not quite as big, is the newest member of the team here at JPL, Ruby! Our resident shredder in the office turned 1 this week and enjoyed lots of treats to mark the occasion.

As always we just want to say a huge thank you from us all here at JPL for all the support and custom over the years. Whether you are a recent customer or one who has been with us for a while, we wouldn’t be here in business still without you all.

John’s New Book – now published and live online

A year in the writing and a lifetime in the making. John has just published his first book on Amazon.

It covers all the technology changes since the 1980’s and his story through it all with a lot of stories and experiences thrown in!

New Customers

This year has flown by and lots has happened here at JPL!

We’ve continued to carry out training for lots of our existing customers throughout the year but we have also gained quite a few new customers this year!

Some of the new ones that we have had the pleasure of training staff for are Trent and Dove Housing Ltd, Brusco Food Group, Akrivia, Cala Management and MP Filtri UK Ltd.

It has been lovely to train some new staff at these companies, but also having the opportunity to see some of the staff more than once as they have completed more than one level of course with us!

YouTube Milestone

A big milestone for us recently was hitting 300 subscribers on our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much to everyone who has subscribed to it, as a smaller family run business we really appreciate all the support and are so pleased that so many of you enjoy the hints and tips!

An Excel Hint and Tip

Speaking of hints and tips. A little one that we have mentioned in a previous post but a lot of attendees enjoy on our courses is the Alt+Enter key shortcut!

This shortcut in Excel allows you to drop down a line within a cell in Excel. So rather than having all your text on one line, you can use this shortcut to spread your text out across lines within the cell!

So a reminder of that tip is – the ‘Alt’ and the ‘Enter’ key, pressing these together (Alt+Enter) allows you to go down another line within a cell in Excel.

A couple of weeks ago John and Rachel had a morning trip out to the Three Counties Showground where the H&W Chamber of Commerce had their Expo on.

There was lots of stalls with lots of different businesses to have a look around and learn more about. They both got to chat to a number of stalls and got to try some samples in the food area!

As it is coming up to Easter there was an Easter Egg hunt with cryptic clues to work out throughout the Expo. John and Rachel gave a few of them ago and ended up coming away with 3 eggs! It was a lot of fun trying to work out the clues and asking the stall holders if they were the answer or not.

A huge thank you to the whole team at Hereford and Worcester Chamber and Commerce for a great Expo and a lovely morning out!
